A James Madison University Special Topics Course

Overview

This course is a survey of Virtual and Augmented Reality design and development. The field of VR & AR is rapidly growing and this class is on the cutting edge. It is intended for novices to VR, AR, and 360° media development (aka Mixed Reality) and will cover a wide range topics including application development, 360° filming, and more. Students will have access to the latest and the greatest VR & AR equipment (HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Microsoft Hololens) and computers, along with 360° cameras, 3D scanners, and UAVs (drones).

Students will develop meaningful VR/AR/360° applications and experiences for PC & Mobile. The course will be broken down into 4 projects: 360 Media, AR, VR, and a final project which may encompass all of these areas. Many projects will be for real clients.
