Rock the Lake | JMU X-Labs

Rock the Lake is free unregistered event for all JMU students, faculty/staff, and community members! Bring your friends and family out to Lakeview Hall (Newman Lake on JMUs campus) for a Monday night to remember. We will have local bands and musicians playing throughout the evening at our outdoor terrace! There is lots of space to relax by the lake, so bring your blankets, chairs, and good vibes!

Light the Lake at 8pm

Concluding Rock the Lake, at 8pm we will Light the Lake! Join us in making paper lanterns and watch as the lake lights up under the night sky.

Rock the Lake Food

Bring a picnic lunch (don’t forget your blanket and chairs)
Order delivery food to our drop off/pick up station

Eat at Lakeside Café across the Lake

Rock the Lake will be providing small snacks and drinks for all guests! You can cross the lake and check out Lakeside Café in Hartman Hall (new business building) that has hours open just for you! A staffed delivery station will be set up for Giddy Up Courier, GrubHub, DoorDash, and Uber Eats.
